Miniature Donkey Foals - the Ultimate "Warm Fuzzies"
Miniature donkeys are among the most adorable creatures, and miniature donkey foals are the cutest, most adorable of all. While there is not a "miniature donkey for sale" sign on every mini donkey foal, we thought you would enjoy seeing them all.

These miniature donkey foals are the result of thoughtful breeding of our quality, registered miniature donkey jacks and jennets. In order to produce miniature donkeys of the highest quality, each mating is carefully planned to strengthen the characteristics of the parents. If you have specific interest in a particular miniature donkey foal on the way or one on this page, please let us know. Yes, he shines bright in our field. The Elms Laser Beam is a small, dark red jack. He has great balance, a wonderful personality, and small, but stocky build. Very happy with this little donkey. He is half brother to the high selling jennet at the North American Select Sale 2011. Not for sale at this time.

Here's a little red jack with a star. His foal coat shows a lot of roan, so it's hard to tell what color he will mature to. His mother is the richest clear red color, with flashy white legs. Lea's 2008 foal, The Elms That's Amore, started out pale roan as a foal, and ended up intense dark red at a year. So we will wait and see with this little guy. Meanwhile, he has a nice stocky frame, and a friendly personality, sweet and correct miniature donkey jack foal.

Wow! Shadow is coal black, with the glossy sheen to his hair coat. He was born with long hair. Mini donkey foals all develop bangs, usually after a month. He had them on his first day. He has long hair in his ears, a fuzzy mane that goes in all directions, and lots and lots of hair. We know he will be a super woolly miniature donkey. He is a full brother to The Elms Tequila 2 Step. He has super straight legs, and a wide chest. Conformation is excellent, and he has a stocky build with good bone.

This mini jack is the first foal by our new herd sire, The Elms Little Red Gun. He is shaping up very nicely, and we plan to keep him for a future Elms Farm breeding jack. He is so well built, you would never know he is also the smallest donkey ever born on our farm. Great temperament, beautiful dark red color, stocky build, and an elegance to his movement. A dark red beauty of a mini donkey, this jennet is sired by our jack, The Elms King of Hearts. She has his "dreamboat head" and a great set of back legs. Her dam, Bobbi Sue, likes to keep her foals close by her side, but I was finally able to get some pictures of this little doll of a jenny.

Snow white jack foal, only hints of red in his foal coat, which will disappear as he gets older. This is a special little donkey, there is something splendid about all white, he really lights up the fieldv!

Lightning is a completely white jack, with the dark eyes, which gives him such a beautiful look. He is basically 100% spotted, and none of his base color coat shows, except for a few vague red spots in the middle of the summer. Very mannerly jack. This picture was taken of him in August 2013, showing him at two years of age. Gorgeous!

Lily is a russet miniature donkey jenny, that intense dark red color that changes with the light. Really glows in the sunshine. Her sire, Amore, is the richest clear dark red, and her mother, Daylily, is a red roan. Daylily is stocky with very correct conformation, same for the sire. Looking mighty nice, this would have been a breeding to repeat, too bad we sold the sire.

Dixie is a splendid, spunky little jennet. Sired by Rembrandt, and in this picture you can see why we love this jack as a herd sire. He puts a gorgeous foal on the ground, with beautiful upright head carriage, alert expression, and rich color, all on top of correct structure. Dixie's namesake is a female artist that worked in this area in the early 1900's. Her dam, Lady Baccarat, is a wooly, but it is too early to tell if Dixie will be long haired.Certainly she carries the genes. You will seldom see a jennet as pretty as this one.

Here is a very sweet tyger spotted mini donkey gelding. Very nice bold dark brown, black and white spotted pattern, straight legs, good teeth. Sweet personality as well. He always looks just gorgeous in the field, really stands out in the herd. Now weaned and gelded, perhaps he is the donkey you want to light up your field from now on?

This jennet foal is a delight! Not at all timid, the first time she encountered the asphalt driveway, she decided it was time to roll. When she got up, we walked a few more feet and she decided to do it again! This is a very nice spotted jack. Mirage has more color than white, which will keep him looking good in the field. Small birth height, straight legs, good chest. He has a gorgeous head, with full mascara around his eyes, and the parentheses ears which curve towards each other. Spunky personality, he is right there when you go in the field. Mirage will be for sale at weaning, as he is related to the Rembrandt, Black Knight, and Geronimo daughters we have kept in our herd.

Telly's Tale is a super wooly mini donkey jennet foal. These pictures show her just a few days old, and her long hair is really growing already. It was blowing in the wind in these pictures. Nothing to fault with her conformation, and she is a friendly little thing, although still kept very close under her mother's watchful eye.

I called them all Spice. Here is another one, The Elms Spice is Nice. This picture shows how upheaded and alert this little jenny is, and her dam, Red Synnamon, still looks great with her tenth foal on the side. What more can you want in a miniature donkey? Showy, stocky, elegant! This Spice is really Nice!

Indy's first foal, and he looks to be a good'un. Miner's dam, Clementine, is a superior miniature donkey brood jennet. She has given us a number of exceptional foals. We used two of her daughters in our breeding program, and have exported two of her sons. A third son is also a herd sire. Mini donkeys are supposed to be a stocky, sturdy breed, well suited to work, and we try to keep to that ideal. We are happy with this breeding. This little jack has it all, robust build, good bone, good width to his chest, straight legs.
